Max Verstappen tackles British journalists in a press conference

After his victory in Sao Paulo, Max Verstappen dealt a big blow to Lando Norris' morale in the championship. In the press conference, British media were not very present, probably linked to the British driver's underperformance. A detail that did not escape the Red Bull driver.

Max Verstappen tackles British journalists in a press conference

We are starting to know him. Max Verstappen is used to making unusual statements and jabs of all kinds. In Brazil, the Dutchman repeated it. He took advantage of a quiet moment in the press conference to ask a question.

As it was coming to an end, the Red Bull driver took the microphone after looking around the room. “I have a small question. I appreciate that you are all here. But I don’t see any British journalists, have they rushed to the airport or have they not found the room?” he wondered ironically.

« It is a legitimate question »

This intervention had no other effect than to make the audience burst into laughter, just like Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon, who were present by his side. The two Frenchmen did not, moreover, contradict the three-time world champion. “It’s a legitimate question,” Pierre Gasly reacted.

Max Verstappen allowed himself this statement after his performance in the rain. While Lando Norris had the opportunity to gain significant points on his rival after a poor qualifying session, the Dutchman ultimately emerged victorious in a race that the Briton finished in sixth place.

With a 62-point lead over the McLaren driver, the man with number 33 will clinch a fourth world title if Lando Norris doesn’t score three points more than him. So, the mission doesn’t seem complicated.
