The Le Mans circuit elected as the “Favorite Monument of the French”

For some, it’s a strange announcement. Yet, yes, the 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit is indeed a monument. Like some football or rugby stadiums can be. On this track of just over 13 kilometers today, many stories have been written there. Many legends.

This monument was competing with 13 other French sites for the final of the Favorite Monument of the French Trophy. Among these, we notably find the Domaine de Trévarez in Brittany, the Belfry of Douai in Hauts-de-France, and Fort Louvois in Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

It is a great honour and a great pride to receive the title of Favorite Monument of the French. The 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit is an icon of our sport and our region, which welcomed more than a million people last year, celebrated Pierre Fillon, President of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO).

« First of all, I would like to sincerely thank Dominique Le Mèner, President of the Sarthe Department Council and the Mixed Syndicate of the Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans, Christelle Morançais, President of the Pays de la Loire Regional Council, as well as Stéphane Le Foll, Mayor of Le Mans and President of Le Mans Métropole. A big thank you also to all the people who voted for the circuit as well as Stéphane Bern. »
