Elected representatives of the Republic in support of Viry-Châtillon
As expected, a demonstration took place at Renault's Viry-Châtillon site. A number of employees were also present in Monza, and protested peacefully.
They kept their word. At the beginning of the weekend, Renault employees had sent a statement to the press to express their discontent. In this letter, they had indicated that two demonstrations would be held simultaneously. One in Monza and the other in Viry-Châtillon.
A small delegation was indeed present in the stands of the circuit on Friday, August 30th. They were easily recognizable with their white t-shirt, with the black Alpine logo and the hashtag #ViryOnTrack on the back.
In the team’s garage, several mechanics were wearing a black armband to show their support for their colleagues in Viry. These protests had no impact on the course of the day for Alpine.

A few hundred kilometers from Italy, in Viry-Châtillon, another gathering took place. And as planned, several representatives of the Republic were present to support Renault employees.
Mobilisée aux côtés des salarié.e.s d’Alpine F1✊
Ici à Viry-Châtillon il est question de capacités industrielles, de savoir faire et de compétences, mises en cause par la décision brutale de Renault.

We can note the presence of François Durovray, the President of the Essonne Department. « Mobilized alongside Alpine F1 employees so that the development of Formula 1 engines remains in Viry-Châtillon. After writing to Emmanuel Macron, I repeat it here: we will not give up to save this French industrial flagship in Essonne », he announced.
The Mayor of Viry-Châtillon and several of his deputies traveled to the Renault site. « Present with many elected officials this morning, including François Durovray, to support the Alpine F1 employees who went on strike 80% so that the development of Formula 1 engines remains at the Viry site », he also shared on his social networks.
