Even after more than 300 GPs, Lewis Hamilton is still having fun!

Even after more than 300 GPs, Lewis Hamilton is still having fun!

He is, along with Fernando Alonso, one of the dinosaurs of the paddock. Present for 17 years now, the Briton will soon complete his 18th season in Formula 1. With over 300 Grand Prix under his belt, one might think that Lewis Hamilton could get tired. Quite the contrary.

Passion is still present in the current Mercedes driver. Even though he admits to getting used to the speed of single-seaters. “I think that, as with everything, you get used to it. So when you accelerate in turn 1 coming out of the pit lane, you’re not scared because it’s part of what you do. But I don’t know how it is for others. But for me, personally, when I’m strapped in for the first time and they start the car, I have the same inner feeling. And then when everyone takes off the tire blankets and you drive out onto the pit lane and commit to turn 1 and do your first lap, I always feel a huge thrill,” he acknowledged in a press conference.

The Briton would like to share the sensations of driving a Formula 1 car with as many people as possible so that everyone understands what can be felt in these machines. It’s really something that I would like all of you to be able to feel and experience.

The seven-time world champion indicated that if he no longer enjoyed driving F1 cars, he would simply stop. But to find similar sensations, he would turn to fighter jets, or something very low or something like that.

Comments shared by Nico Hülkenberg. He too is one of the veterans of the paddock and has experienced different generations of cars. And if he had to remember one thing among all the machines he has had in his hands, it’s the qualifying lap. You know, when you are at the limit, sometimes above the limit, when you are playing with it, you just have to make sure everything goes well. But when you take a corner flat out, you have a sense of pride and you say to yourself “Ok, that was amazing. I did it”.
