Zak Brown to take part in the Estoril Classic

A prestigious event for classic cars. From October 4 to 6, the Estoril circuit in Portugal will host the Estoril Classic. An event organized by Peter Auto, also in charge of the Tour Auto in France.

On the occasion of this event, two familiar faces from the world of motor racing will be present. Zak Brown announced his participation with Tom Kristensen, known for his nine victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. They will take part in this event with two iconic cars: a Ford Capri and a Porsche 935.

“I am really looking forward to participating in a race weekend with my good friend Zak,” said the record holder for success at the Le Mans classic. “Estoril is a great circuit. The Capri and the 935 are two fantastic cars, so when I got the call, it was easy.”

The two racing cars come from the personal collection of the McLaren F1 boss. The two cars are maintained and entered worldwide by the historic United Autosports team, also owned by Zak Brown.

« The Capri and the Porsche 935 are two of my favorite cars and we have a good record at Estoril after last year’s victory with my friend Richard Dean. This will be my first race with Tom, which will be great, and the goal is the same. We are aiming for the win », announces the McLaren boss.

The Ford Capri won two victories in two starts in the 1974 European Touring Car Championship and is one of only three factory-built RS3100s. It was notably driven by Niki Lauda.
