McLaren on fire in Spain
A few minutes before the start of the third free practice session in Spain, the fire department intervened in the McLaren motorhome.
The gazes were turned towards the paddocks. Just before the third free practice session, thick smoke billowed from the McLaren hospitality. Firefighters quickly intervened to stop the incident.
An ambulance also arrived to take care of any potential casualties. On social media, it is possible to see several photos where firefighters, in protective suits, entered the temporary building.
The British team did not wait long to communicate about the start of the fire that affected their motorhome. This morning, we evacuated the Team Hub paddock following a fire alert. The team was evacuated safely while the local firefighters dealt with the issue, they only wrote on Twitter.
For the time being, the origin of this fire is not yet known.
In 2012, a fire had already broken out in Spain. At the time, it had not broken out in the hospitality area in the Williams garage, a few moments after Pastor Maldonado’s victory. Several people had been injured twelve years ago.
