Charles Leclerc voted Monaco driver of the day
Pole, victory and Driver of the Day. Charles Leclerc took almost everything for his first success in the Principality.
He managed to break the curse. Charles Leclerc secured his first victory on home soil after years of struggle. Forced to retire on multiple occasions, the Monegasque was able to finish a race, in 2022, with Ferrari already. But the podium and the victory were missing for him.
It is now a done deal. Driver number 16 won for the first time on the streets of the Principality after resisting the pressure put on by Oscar Piastri. After managing the Australian well, the Scuderia driver increased his pace to secure victory with a comfortable margin.
Charles Leclerc completed an almost perfect weekend. Comfortable since the first laps, the Monegasque driver delivered an incredible qualifying session to secure another pole position on the streets where he grew up.
This performance allowed him to obtain the honorary title of driver of the day. He is the first man to make the Monegasque anthem resound in the Principality in Formula 1.
