Yuki Tsunoda reprimanded after Free Practice 2

At each Grand Prix, the race director adapts the starting procedure rules, depending on the layout of the pit lane exit. At Imola, the pit lane is rather short, due in particular to a narrow track.

At the beginning of the 21 pages of race director notes, we find the specific rules related to the starting procedures: « During the free practice sessions, the practice starts can only be done on the right side asphalt before the exit lights. »

Yuki Tsunoda did not take into account these instructions: « Car number 22 performed a start procedure in violation of the race director’s event notes, which only allow one start procedure before the pit exit lights during free practice, as the place where the driver performed his practice start is considered dangerous during the session. »

The Racing Bulls driver has been reprimanded by the race stewards, this is his first warning of the season.
