Ranking after China: Lando Norris puts the pressure on Carlos Sainz
With his second-place finish at the Chinese Grand Prix, Lando Norris scores big points and closes the gap on the Ferrari drivers just ahead of him. Alpine comes close to unlocking its counter.
At the top of the standings, still no suspense. Max Verstappen continues to accumulate points. With this new victory, the Dutchman finally surpasses the 100-point mark this season.
Behind him, on the other hand, everything tightens up. With his second place, Lando Norris is now only ten points behind Carlos Sainz and 16 behind Charles Leclerc. This result, combined with Oscar Piastri’s, strengthens McLaren’s third position in the constructors’ standings. The British team now has 91 points and leaves Mercedes 47 points behind.

Oscar Piastri and Fernando Alonso are fighting for sixth place. The two men are only separated by one point, the advantage goes to the Australian driver.
Behind, Alpine was very close to opening its account, thanks to Esteban Ocon. The Frenchman finished in 11th place behind Nico Hülkenberg, who brings a fifth unit to Haas. Such a result allows the American team to move back ahead of Visa Cash App RB.
At home, Guanyu Zhou had a very strong finish to the race but was unable to break into the top ten, synonymous with points.
