F1 already confirms the F1 2025 calendar

It’s already official. Formula 1 has confirmed, together with the FIA, International Automobile Federation, the Formula 1 calendar for the 2025 season. A stable calendar, with 24 races, as in 2023, with the same promoters and a few changes, in the same order.

Australia will open the 2025 F1 season.

In 2024, the F1 season opened in Bahrain. Australia had not opened an F1 season since 2019. The Melbourne Grand Prix will once again be the opening round in 2025 and will therefore host the new car models on the other side of the world.

In recent years, it was the Gulf countries that were leading the way. This change is mainly attributable to the dates of Ramadan 2025, which will be early in the year and therefore do not coincide with the organization of such important events out of respect for people of the Muslim faith. After Australia, the next stops will be China, then Japan, before returning to the Gulf countries in Bahrain and Jeddah.

This is the main change of the 2025 calendar.

Switch between Hungary and Belgium

In 2025, there will therefore be as many races as this current season in F1. 24 different promoters in 21 different countries and on 4 continents. The only continent that will still not be represented will be Africa.

Note that the dates of the winter tests have not yet been announced, nor their location. While Bahrain was the opening round for several seasons on the calendar, teams used to meet two weeks earlier there for their winter tests. Now, with the return of Australia as the opening round, the question arises of moving the winter tests back to Europe, to Barcelona for example, or leaving them in Bahrain to return there a few weeks after Australia.
