Jean Alesi to take the wheel of a Formula 1 car again at the French Historic GP
The Grand Prix de France Historique will be an opportunity for F1 fans to see Jean Alesi at the wheel of one of his old single-seaters.
Over the years, the Grand Prix of Historic F1 of France is growing and allows many enthusiasts to rediscover single-seaters that have made history in the sport, but also to see on track many drivers who are part of the legend of F1.
After announcing the presence of Jacky Ickx, who will once again be behind the wheel of the Ferrari 312 F1, the organizer revealed the participation of other Formula 1 legends, including René Arnoux who will drive the Ferrari 312 T5 formerly owned by the late Gilles Villeneuve. But that’s not all. Austrian driver Gerhard Berger will also be part of the event. The driver, who achieved 10 victories, will drive the 1991 McLaren MP4/6 with which Ayrton Senna won the world championship. Spectators will have the opportunity to listen to the sweet melody of the Honda V12 engine on this occasion.
Finally, the cherry on top will be the return to F1 of **Jean Alesi**, Honorary President of the circuit and another legend of F1. The only certainty today is that the Frenchman will be driving one of his old cars. In 2023, the Avignon native had returned to the wheel of a 1965 Lotus Elan 26R during the 6 Hours V de V with teammates Philippe Gache, Stephane, and Jean Pierre Richelmi. The race ended with a retirement due to a mechanical issue with the car’s rear axle.
