Ferrari unveils its special livery for the Las Vegas Grand Prix
On November 19th, the return of the Las Vegas Grand Prix will be marked. For this occasion, Ferrari is unveiling a unique livery today, after having earlier in the week revealed a special combination.
A unique livery had already been unveiled by Ferrari for the Monza Grand Prix in September, so this will be the second unique livery of the season in Las Vegas. In Monza, the Italian team’s car was adorned in yellow. Not as a reference to Ferrari’s original pain, but in honor of the victorious 499P at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
A few months later, the yellow will give way to white to accompany the red. One can find a completely white rear wing as well as small white notes and lines throughout the car. The numbers on the 2 cars are stylized “old-school” with the return of the “famous white circle” in the background.
Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc will match their race cars as they will driver in a special combination, also adorned in white. The Italian brand has also announced that its 2 drivers will follow suit with their personal helmets in the same colors.
This livery pays tribute to the relationship between the United States and the brand during the 70s and 80s. There were no less than 19 Formula 1 Grand Prix held in the Uncle Sam’s country between 1976 and 1984. The Italian cars were partially covered in white during that time, always accompanied by the timeless red. However, Ferrari never managed to make it to the podium during the only two editions of the Las Vegas GP in 1980 and 1981: will it be different this year?
Other teams should sport special liveries. For Red Bull, it’s even certain, fans had to vote to choose the design of the car.
An historic look for an all-new track.
