Lance Stroll declared fit for the Japanese Grand Prix
The Canadian driver will make his return this weekend at Suzuka, following his impressive accident during the qualifying session of the Singapore Grand Prix.
He didn’t linger. On X (formerly Twitter), Lance Stroll announced on Wednesday, September 20th that he would participate in the Japanese Grand Prix. « Thank you for all your messages. I am ready to race this weekend », he posted.
This news comes to sweep away rumors saying that the Canadian driver would not be fit to participate in the Japanese Grand Prix. Last Saturday, the Aston Martin driver violently hit the protective walls during the qualifying session in Singapore. He couldn’t start the race because his car couldn’t be repaired in time, but also because he still felt the aftermath of the impact.
Engine part changes?
If for Suzuka, her car would have been easily repaired, it was her physical condition that raised questions. Even though Mike Krack claimed earlier in the week that his driver had recovered from the impact, there was no official confirmation. That has now been done.
Following his accident, several engine parts had to be damaged and Fernando Alonso’s teammate should receive new equipment for this weekend. If Aston Martin were to change the batteries for the Canadian, he would be penalized with grid place penalties. As for the engine, turbo, MGU-K and MGU-H, he is still within the limits with three components used out of the four allowed in a season.
