End of the series for Max Verstappen and Red Bull
This is the first time since the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2022 that no Red Bull has won. Max Verstappen ends his streak of ten consecutive victories, with his fifth place.
The series always have an end. Max Verstappen’s series lasted ten races. The Dutchman broke the record for consecutive victories at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza. If he had the opportunity to add one more victory to his remarkable record this weekend, the magic of Singapore decided otherwise.
Singapore has never been a circuit that has worked well for him. And this year, it was confirmed. Struggling throughout the weekend, the double world champion qualified in 11th place, far from his usual form. The Grand Prix then went better as the Dutchman eventually finished in fifth place.
This correct result, however, puts an end to two impressive streaks. First, Max Verstappen’s streak. But also his team’s, which was unbeaten since the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 2022. That’s 15 consecutive victories, a record.
Despite this blunder from the Austrian team, Max Verstappen has extended his lead in the drivers’ championship. However, Red Bull has seen its cushion shrink and the constructors’ title will have to wait a bit longer.
