Hamilton: “We have rolled the dice today”
The seven-time World Champion finished third in the Singapore Grand Prix in his Mercedes.
It is with a smile, despite his face marked by the harshness of the race conditions (the humidity level in the air exceeded 70%), that Lewis Hamilton came to comment on his Singapore Grand Prix, in which he secured third place.
For his 196th podium of his career, an absolute record never reached before, the British driver was not jaded. “We rolled the dice today,” he observed. “We had oriented our qualifying session according to the strategy we wanted to adopt, it was a risky bet. I kept my head down and attacked.”
Indeed, in the last three laps, Hamilton gave a hard time to his teammate at Mercedes, attempting several attacks, before Russell ended his race in the wall. “It’s unfortunate for him, but he will bounce back.”
Hamilton appreciated his performance on a circuit with a much faster layout, “This is how races should be, thrilling.” No one will disagree.
