Loris Baz pays tribute to François Cevert

Motorbikes and Formula 1 are increasingly linked. We see it on motorcycle races where F1 drivers are present and vice versa. They sometimes pay tribute to each other, like Lando Norris who often appears with a cap featuring Valentino Rossi’s image or Daniel Ricciardo who took up the design of the Italian helmet at Monza in 2022.

Today, it’s the opposite. Loris Baz, a rider in World Superbike, has decided to pay tribute to one of the greatest French talents in single-seater racing, François Cevert. During the French round of the discipline, which takes place this weekend, he has adopted the famous colors of the Parisian.

By a French company

The colors of the French flag are well represented on the motorcycle pilot’s helmet. Even the yellow stripe in the center of the protection is kept. On the top of the helmet, Loris Baz couldn’t put the Elf logo, the former sponsor of Tyrrell, Cevert’s team, but he kept the shape to write his name.

Behind the helmet, Loris Baz applied, very small, the helmet of the deceased driver at Watkins Glen in 1973, as well as his signature. The artwork was created by OCD Design for victory, a French company specialized in helmet decorations.
