“It’s for Wikipedia,” Toto Wolff mocks Red Bull and Verstappen’s records

Red Bull – Mercedes. Act… To be honest, we’ve lost count. Since 2021 and that crazy season where Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen battled for the title, both camps have exchanged shots through the media on numerous occasions.

After the tackle sent by Lewis Hamilton about the level of Max Verstappen’s teammates, it’s the boss of the Brit who got involved. Toto Wolff commented on the record of ten consecutive victories established by the Dutchman in Monza. At the same time, the Red Bull driver offered his team a 15th consecutive success.

« This is not something important »

These statistics leave the Austrian indifferent, even him who saw his team dominate F1 between 2014 and 2020 and who was not able to achieve such a feat.

« The situation was a bit different because we had two guys fighting against each other within the team. I don’t know if [Max Verstappen] cares about records. It’s not something important to me, those numbers, it’s for Wikipedia, and anyways, nobody reads that », says Toto Wolff.

Towards a flawless Red Bull?

« For me, this kind of record doesn’t matter. They didn’t have it during the glory days of Mercedes, and I don’t know how many races in a row we won. I didn’t even know there was a count for consecutive wins. So it’s hard for me to comment on that, as it never played a role in my life. But the result shows that there is a great driver in an excellent car performing at an extremely high level. »

Record or no record. Red Bull is heading towards a flawless season, as no one has managed to beat the Verstappen – Perez duo this year.
