His race was mainly defensive. Starting from pole position, Carlos Sainz fought for about fifteen laps against Max Verstappen, who wanted to win his tenth consecutive victory. The Spaniard perfectly managed the start of the race as he kept the Dutchman behind him.

Yes, but at what cost? This aggressive defense only degraded his tires, whereas Max Verstappen managed to preserve his. So, by the 15th lap, the Ferrari driver lost the lead of the race, before letting the current world champion leader go.

One Red Bull replaces another. Once halfway through the race, the Spaniard had to fight against Sergio Perez before cracking once again, not without giving it his all once more. But once the Mexican had passed, another discreet man was waiting in the wings: Charles Leclerc.

The two teammates fought fiercely for a few laps for the last spot on the podium. Finally, the driver number 55 maintains the advantage over the Monégasque in front of the tifosi.
