The Alfa Romeo drivers with a special helmet

Decidedly, the Italian Grand Prix is a source of inspiration. Since the beginning of the week, several members of the Formula 1 circus have announced one after the other special designs for the race in Monza.

First Ferrari, with the suits of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. Then a special livery reminiscent of the 499P, which won at Le Mans this year. And then the drivers themselves, who brought an unprecedented helmet.

Finally, it’s Alfa Romeo that has entered the dance. The Italian-Swiss team unveiled earlier this week a special livery for their home Grand Prix. This pays tribute to the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, the latest offering from the manufacturer.

Historical nod

While the free practice sessions had not yet begun, Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou unveiled their helmets. First, the Finnish driver brought a helmet with a design featuring vintage protective goggles. References to Alfa Romeo’s history in F1 were also incorporated, including the title of Giuseppe Farina in 1951 with the Alfetta Tipo 159.

Finally, Guanyu Zhou has taken on the Italian flag and colors on his protection. A nod to the first season in the history of the sport is also present. A season in which Alfa Romeo participated and in which Giuseppe Farina became the first Formula 1 world champion.
