Max Verstappen equals Sebastian Vettel’s record of consecutive wins
With a ninth consecutive victory obtained this weekend in Zandvoort, Max Verstappen equals a 10-year-old record held by Sebastian Vettel.
It took 10 years to match it. It may take another week to bring it down. In 2013, Sebastian Vettel achieved an extraordinary end to the season with nine consecutive victories, leading him to a fourth world title.
Ten years later, Max Verstappen is ready to repeat such dominance. Since the Miami Grand Prix, no one has managed to beat the Dutchman, who is stringing together successes. And with this Dutch Grand Prix, the Red Bull driver has also obtained his ninth in a row.
He thus equals Sebastian Vettel’s record and will have the opportunity to beat it in a week at Monza, where he will try to obtain a tenth consecutive victory.
Max Verstappen is also still in the running to erase one of his records from the books. Last year, he won 15 times. In 2023, he has already stood on the highest step of the podium 11 times. With nine races still on the schedule, anything is possible.
