Daniel Ricciardo is driving to the hospital
The Australian had an accident during the second free practice session. On the radio, he complained of pain in his hand. He was taken to the hospital for further examinations.
The third race of the season for Daniel Ricciardo appears to be in jeopardy. Barely back from vacation, the driver may already be injured. After about fifteen minutes, during the second free practice session, he went off track at turn 4.
At that moment, the Australian driver had the steering wheel turned to the left, and the impact brought it back straight. As a result, he immediately withdrew his hand and grabbed his radio. In his message, he mentioned being injured and seemed to be in pain, based on his intonation.
Following this, he was taken to the hospital for further tests. Pending the results, it is uncertain whether he will be able to participate in the rest of the Dutch Grand Prix. He could potentially be replaced by Nyck de Vries, who was recently released from AlphaTauri. Liam Lawson is also a possibility for the team based in Faenza.
If a driver were to replace Daniel Ricciardo, it is necessary that this be done before the qualifying sessions, as stipulated by the regulations.
