Formulino, the famous cat from Imola, has passed away
Becoming a true social media star, Formulino, the cat who was walking on the Imola circuit, passed away earlier this week.
The Imola circuit has lost a new figure. He was called « the owner of the place » and even had a VIP pass in his name. The most popular feline in motorsports is no more. This little kitty of 16 years old passed away earlier this week.
The sad announcement was made on the dedicated Instagram account. The cat had notably received caresses from Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel, when the race cars were in Emilia-Romagna. Its presence in the interview area had even interrupted the former Ferrari driver.
« A mascot »
« He was a member of the Imola family, the first to arrive at the office opening and the last to leave at sunset after punching his time card », as stated in the latest publication.
« Our mascot, therapist and snack buddy filled our work days with joy. There is no motorsport fan who will not remember him, ready to welcome anyone arriving at the circuit. »
A statue should even be built at the circuit to pay tribute to him. Some fans have started a collection to pay for it.
