Taxis could block access to the Dutch Grand Prix
Dutch drivers have threatened to block access to the Zandvoort circuit during the Grand Prix. They are denouncing the fact that they have not obtained a pass for the event.
They are in an uproar. According to our Dutch colleagues from NoordHollands Dagblad, a handful of taxi drivers could show their discontent during the Grand Prix of the Netherlands. They denounce the fact that they did not obtain a pass.
Indeed, the municipality of Zandvoort has decided to allocate them only to permanent drivers. « In the past two editions, they did not have access to Zandvoort, but last year, taxis illegally obtained a pass and entered the village on their own, where they offered their services », justifies the City of Zandvoort.
400,000 people expected
This has caused numerous inconveniences and problems within our mobility plan. This means that we have announced: please be aware that the rules have been in place for two years and we are really going to enforce and apply them this year. Authorized taxis have received a passage ticket and are therefore recognizable.
Just a reminder, nearly 400,000 people are expected throughout the weekend, by the seaside.
