Fernando Alonso is aiming for the second place in the constructor’s championship with Aston Martin
The Spaniard hopes that his team's impressive start to the season will continue. The double world champion wants to fight for second place in the constructor's championship. But a tough battle is expected with Mercedes and Ferrari.
This start of the season is filled with surprises. Except for Red Bull and Max Verstappen who dominate all the discussions, the battle for the top positions and the podium is raging. While in the first few Grand Prix, Fernando Alonso was the closest rival to the Dutchman, other competitors have joined the chase.

This has narrowed the gap in the constructors’ championship, and Aston Martin now even finds itself as the third strongest team on the grid behind Mercedes. On the grounds where he clinched his first win, Fernando Alonso aims to make progress. And that is so that Lawrence Stroll’s team can reclaim the second position it held earlier this year.

“It’s going to be a close battle until the end. So yes, let’s see what the final position is. We must not forget that there are strong competitors behind us, teams and very fast drivers. If Aston Martin wants to regain that famous second place, Lance Stroll will also have to step up his game. The Canadian driver only has 44 points compared to his teammate’s 137.
