Logan Sargeant, confident for the Hungarian Grand Prix
The American driver was very close to scoring his first points at Silverstone. This weekend, he is heading to the Hungaroring, a challenging track for Williams, but he plans to give himself every chance.
Logan Sargeant is getting closer to the points zone. At Silverstone, he was just inches away from reaching his goal. With an eleventh-place finish, the American fell just one step short of opening his account. The rookie hopes that this will happen this weekend in Hungary.
The track, located a few kilometers from Budapest, seems to suit Williams, who had an impressive performance in 2021 with George Russell and Nicholas Latifi. Two years later, the British team could once again have an advantage. Although Logan Sargeant wants to temper the hopes of his team this weekend.
« I think, you know, of course, that Budapest is not a track that is going to be great for us. So we have to manage expectations after two decent weekends for the team. But yes, I think there is always an opportunity. You never know until you put the car on the ground. So we will stay optimistic and see what we can do, » Logan Sargeant said at the press conference on Thursday, July 20th.
Enjoying top speed
The Williams could take advantage of its top speed in the first sector to distance its competitors. Then, it could benefit from the twisty section to maintain its advantage. For this, a good qualifying session will be mandatory for the American and his teammate, Alex Albon.
« I think that this particular weekend will not be, you know, perfect for what we have in our car, but we will make the most of it. And yes, I hope I will optimize what we just talked about with a different qualification format. »
