Red Bull and Ford, “a very positive interaction” according to Christian Horner

Red Bull recently signed a partnership with Ford for their Formula 1 team. In just a few months, the investments are already benefiting the Milton Keynes team, and Christian Horner is happy and reassured about this collaboration.

A valuable help

« I think what they bring most interestingly is the investment they make in electrification technology and batteries » stated Christian Horner.

« The combustion engine is a specialized niche for F1. But I really think that when it comes to electric engines, we meet with the guys from Ford every week and we see very interesting developments »,” Horner explained, greatly satisfied with Ford’s work, before adding: « “I think that as our relationship develops from a technological standpoint, they bring more and more to the table, which is really very interesting. The interaction has been very positive.” » This is a collaboration that is currently working and bodes well for Red Bull and its future in Formula 1.

« They are not trying to tell us how to manage our company and are not involved from a shareholder perspective. So far, the relationship has been very, very positive » clarified Christian Horner, once again demonstrating the excellent understanding between the two entities.

Horner reassured about the future

Although nothing is decided beyond 2030 between Red Bull and Ford, this long-term contract reassures Horner and his team. Ford has, moreover, already worked in Formula 1 and knows how the industry operates. « One can never predict so far ahead. We have an agreement until 2030. Bill Ford has been one of the main driving forces behind this agreement, Horner explained.

« This reassures us, and I think the fact that Ford has been involved in F1 before, here in Milton Keynes with Stewart and Jaguar, they know how complex and complicated it is. They told us, “Listen, guys, this is a specialized topic for you, we are here to help you. We are here to support you, so let us know where we can help you,” said Christian Horner.

Red Bull hopes to benefit from this partnership for as long as possible, and for it to be mutually beneficial.
