The F1 still in the spotlight at the Goodwood Festival of Speed
Like every year, in the month of July, the Festival of Speed takes place in the south of England, at Goodwood. An opportunity to admire numerous Formula 1 cars. And this year is no exception.
The event brings together tens of thousands of fans every year. They come from all over the world to admire legendary cars and motorcycles. And among all the beautiful machines present, Formula 1 cars are always highly anticipated.
From Thursday 13th to Sunday 16th of July, the public gathered at Goodwood will once again have the opportunity to admire some of the most beautiful and iconic single-seater cars in history. Starting with Jim Clark’s Lotus 25, which allowed him to win his first world championship title in 1963.
Colin Chapman’s stable will also be represented by the Lotus 79, one of the first ground-effect cars, which allowed Mario Andretti to remove Ferrari from the record books by winning the world title in 1979.
Mick Schumacher behind the wheel of his father’s car
McLaren will also be part of the event with the MP4/14 from 1999, driven by Mika Häkkinen, and the MP4-23. Two other cars that allowed their drivers to be crowned champions. The Finnish driver first, and then Lewis Hamilton in 2008.
Mick Schumacher will make his way to this famous hill climb race track with the Mercedes W02, formerly driven by none other than his father. The Red Baron had driven this car in 2021. This will be one of the highlights, the organizers assure.
Green Fuel
A close friend of Mick will also be present. It is Sebastian Vettel. The four-time world champion will drive the Williams FW14B, which allowed Nigel Mansell to secure his only title in 1992. This car will have the particularity of being fueled by sustainable fuel. A solution dear to the German.
