AlphaTauri has worked a lot on its braking issues

In Austria, brakes are extensively used. The track features significant braking zones after long straightaways, especially on the first turns. Therefore, it is crucial for the single-seaters to have good setups and no issues.

For several months, AlphaTauri drivers, particularly Yuki Tsunoda, have been having difficulties with this aspect of the mechanics. The Japanese driver has expressed himself several times on the subject. This issue also affected Pierre Gasly last season.

Yuki Tsunoda strongly encouraged his team to react and correct this flaw. We have tested many things, so the goal is to obtain perfect settings on the first day of the race and gain confidence right from the start. The track layout is challenging for the brakes, but the team has made a lot of efforts to solve the problems we encountered in certain races, and we now know how to help them perform better, reveals the Japanese driver, ahead of the Austrian Grand Prix.

Trust is present

The number 22 driver is confident before entering this new round of the world championship. Thanks to the progress made by his team, he believes he can get closer to the midfield. Moreover, Yuki Tsunoda will be driving on a track that he really likes. He scored points in his first season in F1.

Our goal for Austria must be to have a good car from the first free practice session, as the qualifications will take place right after on Friday.
