Haas appeals Hülkenberg’s penalty in Monaco, a commissioner steps down
The FIA will review the penalty imposed on Nico Hülkenberg in Monaco. One of the commissioners who judged the German's manoeuvre a week ago is again in the panel in Spain. He has decided to withdraw to avoid a potential conflict of interest.
The situation is extremely rare. This Saturday, June 3rd, the FIA released a new document from the commissioners, and it came as a surprise. In this document, it is indicated that Felix Holter has decided to temporarily withdraw from the commissioners’ panel regarding a decision.
This is the appeal request made by Haas regarding the five-second penalty imposed on Nico Hülkenberg in Monaco following an incident with Logan Sargeant. The team’s boss, Günther Steiner, had highlighted the inconsistency of the FIA regarding this sanction.
Haas’s request will be analyzed this Saturday, June 3rd, at 2:30 p.m. Felix Holter will be replaced by Matthew Selley to deliver the final deliberation.
