The year 2023 marks the 110th anniversary of Aston Martin and the 75th anniversary of the DB range. To commemorate the occasion, Aston Martin has unveiled its new model, the DB12, described as more than just a road car. The DB12 is equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, a top speed of 325.09 km/h, and a 0 to 100 mph time of 3.5 seconds.

Deliveries are expected by the end of the year and the first DB12 of a client was sold at auction during the amfAR charity gala in Cannes for $1,600,000 (1.49 million euros). amfAR is one of the largest American and global foundations for funding HIV prevention and medical research.

The lucky new owner will also have the engine cover signed by Formula 1 drivers Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso, as well as other unique details throughout the car to make it one-of-a-kind. The car is also distinguished by specific badges adorning the wings, embroidery on the headrests, and a commemorative plaque on the door sills.

Lawrence Stroll, executive chairman of Aston Martin, stated: Aston Martin is delighted to have supported the amfAR Gala in Cannes. In addition to the generosity of amfAR participants, the incredible amount raised during this charity auction highlights the enthusiasm for the new DB12 and its unique ultra-luxury and high-performance features that elevate it well beyond the current GT category.

Kevin Robert Frost, CEO of amfAR, spoke about the event: We had the incredible opportunity to have Aston Martin as the main sponsor of the 29th amfAR gala in Cannes, and we are immensely grateful for their generous donation of this spectacular DB12 for our live auction. This phenomenal sports car was one of the highlights of the gala, and the proceeds from the auction will provide a significant boost to our efforts to develop a cure for HIV.
