The Indianapolis 500 race is among the most prestigious car races along with the Monaco Grand Prix and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This weekend, Alex Palou will have the opportunity to start the race on Sunday, May 28th, alongside Rinus van Kalmthout (2nd) and Felix Rosenqvist (3rd).

During the qualifying sessions, with an average speed of 376.8552 km/h, Alex Palou becomes the fastest poleman in the 107 editions of the race.

Just to remind you, the qualifications are divided into 3 parts. The first part gathers all the drivers to determine the top 12 fastest ones. Positions 13 to 30 are determined by the first qualification. The next day, the top 12 drivers have 4 laps to set a time, which is called the “Fast 12”. The 6 fastest drivers qualify for the “Fast 6”, the event that determines the driver who starts in pole position.

The four McLarens have all positioned themselves in the top 10. Marcus Ericsson, previous winner of the Indy 500, will start in 10th place. On the French side, the situation is a bit more delicate: Romain Grosjean will start in the middle of the pack in 19th place, and Simon Pagenaud has secured the 22nd place.
