Max Verstappen is organizing an event to help Emilie-Romagna
The current double world champion has organized a simracing event in which he will participate. The principle is to collect donations to help the part of Italy devastated by floods.
An enormous wave of support. After the severe floods that hit the north and center of Italy, many people have been affected, injured, and killed. All of this has led to the cancellation of the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, which was scheduled to take place on May 19, 20, and 21.
Following this, many drivers showed their support to the Italian people and spread the call for donations. Others, like Yuki Tsunoda, participated in cleaning operations. Ferrari and F1 each donated 1 million dollars to rebuild this region.
Quatre courses
More recently, it’s Max Verstappen who announced that he would also lend a hand. The Dutch driver has decided to organize a virtual event with the return of Real Racers Never Quit. This program was launched during the lockdown, during which he had won half of the races.
The event is scheduled for this Sunday, May 21st (at 3:30 pm on the Team Redline Twitch channel), the original date on which the race was supposed to take place in Imola. There will be a Formula 3 race, a Formula Ford race, one with a Mazda MX-5, and one with the Toyota GR86. They were chosen by Max because these cars are not difficult to learn in the game, they are fun to drive, and they should provide exciting races to watch. We could have also chosen a Formula 1 or a GT3 in iRacing, but it requires learning time and the race may not have been as competitive, explains Atze Kerkhof, director of Team Redline, one of the organizers.
