The FIA tow truck on the track amidst the Porsche Carrera Cup cars just after Free Practice 2 in Miami
Shortly after the end of the second free practice session in Miami, the Porsche Carrera Cup took to the track. However, in the middle of this pack, a tow truck was on the track with Charles Leclerc's crashed Ferrari.
The sequence went almost unnoticed. But, it was shared on social media, especially on TikTok. During the second practice session, Charles Leclerc veered off the track and hit the wall at turn 7. The Monégasque had to abandon his car for the rest of the session.
Then, the Ferrari was placed on a tow truck to bring it back to the pits. The tow truck used the track to reach the pit lane. So far, nothing abnormal. Except that at that moment, the Porsche Carrera Cup cars were on the asphalt.
Fortunately, at that moment, the cars were slowing down and warned of danger by yellow flags waved by the marshals. However, the scene could have been very dangerous and potentially ended badly. “How could this happen?” wonders Krisu B, who posted the video on TikTok.
