Four drivers benefit from new engine components in Miami
The Mercedes drivers, Carlos Sainz and Nyck de Vries, have new equipment for this weekend.
After a wave of engine component changes in Baku, some drivers still have new equipment in Miami. This includes Lewis Hamilton and George Russell. The Mercedes drivers have new batteries and a new electronic control unit. Carlos Sainz has undergone the same changes on his Ferrari.
On the gearbox side, Nyck de Vries had all the parts replaced. Gears and a brand new casing were installed on his AlphaTauri.
All these men stay within the quotas imposed by the Formula 1 regulations. Therefore, they will not receive any penalties on the starting grid of this Miami Grand Prix.
Note that since last week, the FIA announced the authorization of additional engine components for this season.
