Sergio Perez: “We managed the tires and Max’s pressure well”
The Mexican driver has secured his second victory of the season, once again on an urban circuit. He is now closing in on his teammate in the championship.
Double win. The Red Bull driver managed to dominate both races of the weekend. The one on Saturday and the main one on Sunday. Sergio Pérez once again proves that urban circuits are favorable to him.
For many laps, he fought off his teammate Max Verstappen’s attempts to close in. He managed to withstand the pressure from the Dutchman to secure his sixth victory in F1.
« It has been a good job for us. We managed the tires and Max’s pressure well. Everything was going well in this Grand Prix. After the safety car, there was a new race with the hard tires. It was very close between us with Max. The way he pushed me during the race was tough, but I managed to keep him under control. »
Now, he is six points behind his teammate in the world championship standings.
