Pirelli unveils the selected tires for Baku
The Italian manufacturer is going to come to Azerbaijan with its softest compounds.
The tires brought by Pirelli to Baku have just been unveiled. The manufacturer will bring its C3, C4, and C5 compounds to Azerbaijan, which are the softest in its range. This is the first opportunity to observe the C5 tires this year. « They are perfectly suited for the tight corners of this street circuit as well as the long straight lines where cars reach a maximum speed of 340 km/h, » explains Pirelli.
A single-stop strategy seems to be the scenario already chosen by the Italian company. However, this would only happen if the safety car is not deployed.
Contrary to last year, the race will take place at the end of April instead of June. The date suits Pirelli better as in 2022, the tires had undergone numerous constraints. The thermal degradation becomes a factor due to the high temperature of the asphalt.
