Penalized, Charles Leclerc will “do his best to make a comeback” in Jeddah

If he wants to step onto the podium or achieve a great performance, Charles Leclerc will have to step on the gas. The Monegasque is forced to start from the middle of the pack after receiving a 10-place penalty due to a change in his control electronics. So he will start 12th.

After a satisfying qualifying session finishing in 2nd place, driver number 16 expressed mixed feelings about what awaits him tomorrow. “Happy…yes and no,” said Charles Leclerc.

On one hand, this weekend has been very challenging for us in terms of pace. On the other hand, I am very happy with my performance. Starting with a 10-place penalty won’t be easy, but we will do our best to make a comeback.

The Monégasque driver has not scored any points so far this Formula 1 season. In Bahrain, he was the victim of a reliability issue, forcing him to retire. In Saudi Arabia, he will be determined to forget about this setback, especially since his rival Max Verstappen will start 15th due to a transmission problem during qualifying.
