The FIA made a slip of the tongue by replacing Logan Sargeant with Nicholas Latifi

Already back? For some, it would be immense joy to see again the one who was nicknamed Goatifi on the circuits. The Canadian, who spent three seasons with Williams, was not retained by the Grove-based team for 2023 and has been replaced by Logan Sargeant.

But, according to the FIA, the American is not behind the wheel of the Williams during the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Indeed, for each race, the Federation makes available to the general public documents indicating the number of parts used by each driver at a given time.

The FIA made a mistake in the list of drivers.

On the document regarding the number of gearboxes installed on the single-seaters, the most curious ones may have noticed a familiar name. That of Nicholas Latifi instead of Logan Sargeant. Even the number 6 has replaced Logan Sargeant’s 2.

The document in PDF format is still online at the time of writing these lines. However, American fans can rest assured, it is a mistake. On the other hand, the dream of some will be shattered, the Canadian is not returning to the Williams garage.

This little blunder still managed to make several people smile on social media.
