Ferrari is losing its head of single-seater concept
Ferrari is set to lose a key figure. David Sanchez, the head of the single-seater concept, is rumored to be leaving his position within the Maranello team.
Ferrari would do well without this setback. With a difficult start to the season, including Charles Leclerc’s retirement in the opening race and reliability issues that have emerged from the first few races, the Scuderia is once again facing tough times.
Fred Vasseur’s team will be losing one of their most important men, David Sanchez. The Frenchman, who arrived in Maranello in 2012, is expected to leave the team in the coming days. The information was revealed by Formula1a.uno and then reported by Motorsport.com. So far, Ferrari has not commented on a possible departure of David Sanchez.
The Frenchman first worked on the aerodynamics of the front part of the prancing horse single-seaters before being promoted to the position of aerodynamics manager in 2016. He was then appointed head of the aero department before assuming his current role as head of single-seater concept.
