The team directors have named Max Verstappen the best driver of the year
Max Verstappen has won two titles this year. The Formula 1 World Champion and the Best Driver of the Year award presented by the 10 team directors.
It is a small, innocuous tradition that means a lot, which the team directors in the paddock participate in. Since 2008, the ten team managers vote, in secret, to select the top 10 best drivers of the year.
The scale used to establish this ranking is the same as the one used for the Grand Prix (25, 18, 15, 12, etc). For the second consecutive year, Max Verstappen comes out on top. The now double world champion has collected 207 out of the possible 250 units.
The Dutchman finishes far ahead of Charles Leclerc (144 points), George Russell completes the podium (127). Lewis Hamilton arrives in 4th place, followed by Sergio Perez, Lando Norris, Carlos Sainz, Fernando Alonso, Valtteri Bottas and Sebastian Vettel.
