Pierre Gasly bids a fond farewell to Honda
Pierre Gasly will join Alpine in 2023. It's a major transfer for the French driver, who is bidding farewell to Honda, the manufacturer that brought him to Formula 1 in 2017. He spoke about this important turning point in his racing career.
During the Honda Racing Thanks Days in Motegi, the Nippon manufacturer rewarded its supporters and celebrated its successes in the 2022 season’s competitions. It was an opportunity for Pierre Gasly to bid farewell to the brand that allowed him to make his debut in Formula 1.

A lot of emotions.
Pierre Gasly and Honda is a love story. The French driver has been driving cars powered by a Honda engine since 2017. He notably competed in the Super Formula championship before making his debut in Formula 1 at the end of the 2017 season. This was an important milestone in his career, where he managed to adapt to a brand new car and win races against renowned drivers.

During this event dedicated to Honda fans, Pierre Gasly took a few laps behind the wheel of the AT01, the single-seater with which he won the 2020 Italian Grand Prix in Monza. A wonderful way to celebrate his 6th and final season racing for AlphaTauri and Honda.
It was my last day as a Honda pilot. I was very emotional when I drove my victorious AlphaTauri in Monza in 2020.
Max Verstappen, Yuki Tsunoda, and Sergio Perez were of course part of this farewell show for Honda!
