Sergio Pérez disappointed by his race in Abu Dhabi: "It wasn’t enough"
Sergio Pérez could have made it a one-two for Red Bull in the drivers' championship on Sunday, but unfortunately for him it was Charles Leclerc who took the 2022 vice-world champion title.
While Red Bull had already won the constructor’s world championship title as well as the drivers’ championship, the team could have achieved a double with the vice world champion title. Sergio Pérez and Charles Leclerc both arrived at the Yas Marina circuit with 290 points on the scoreboard, and the pressure was high for the Mexican driver. Despite making one more tire change than the Monegasque driver, Sergio Pérez was unable to catch up with him in the final laps and finished in third position in this Grand Prix.
Obviously disappointed and frustrated by this result, the driver briefly expressed himself on his race:
« We really did everything we could and it wasn’t enough. That’s how sports work: sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, that’s just how it is… I finished third in the championship. What really matters is that I gave it my all, and I’m really happy because I did it this season. It has been a good season for me, at that level I’m happy and satisfied with it.

The Mexican driver will surely be hungry for revenge and performance in 2023…!
