Jacky Ickx to attend Classic Days 2023
The two-time World Championship runner-up will be present at Magny-Cours on April 29 and 30, 2023. The Belgian will be accompanied by his Ferrari 312 B2.
He knows the places. Jacky Ickx will be at the Classic Days, in Magny-Cours, five years after his last visit. The Belgian, mainly known for his time in Formula 1 with Ferrari and his successes at Le Mans, will be part of it again.
On the upcoming 29th and 30th of April, the one who was nicknamed “Le Poupon” will offer a demonstration to the public. He will be accompanied by his Ferrari 312 B2, with which he participated in the 1971 World Championship.
With this single-seater, Jacky Ickx won the Dutch Grand Prix in 1971 and also claimed the Jochen Rindt Memorial trophy, a race held at the Hockenheim circuit in memory of the late driver. The two men had battled for the world title in 1970, but the crown was awarded to the Austrian posthumously.
The one who also participated in the Dakar rally once again brought the 312 B2 to the top step of the podium at the 1972 German Grand Prix. Ferrari had also entered this car for the season.
Jacky Ickx will not be the only Formula 1 driver present. Jacques Laffite will also be part of the event. Jean-Louis Schlesser will be the guest of honor for this 2023 edition. During the event, a tribute will be paid to his father, Jo, who passed away during the 1968 French Grand Prix.
