Three drivers summoned to the stewards
Pierre Gasly is summoned for driving too slowly on the formation lap. The Alpine drivers for their collision.
A lot happened in 24 laps. Between the fight between George Russell and Max Verstappen, the collisions between Alonso/Ocon, and the Alpine catching fire. This sprint race of the Brazilian Grand Prix provided a spectacle for the audience at Interlagos and the fans watching on television.
But, not everything went perfectly. During the formation lap, Pierre Gasly allegedly drove too slowly. He was called before the stewards to explain himself. In the event of a penalty, the Frenchman could receive penalty points on his super license. If he accumulates two points, he would face a Grand Prix suspension.
Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso are also invited to explain themselves. The two teammates, who apparently are no longer friends, clashed on the straight of the pits. The impact broke the Spaniard’s front wing. Following this accident, both men will have to answer the commissioners’ questions.
Penalized during the race, Lance Stroll was not summoned following his poor gesture towards his teammate. He pushed Sebastian Vettel onto the grass as he was trying to overtake him. He should still receive penalty points on his super license.
