Sebastian Vettel voted Driver of the Day in Japan
The German, for his last race in Suzuka, made a lasting impression despite a difficult start to the race.
He was departing in ninth place and could have lost everything at the first turn. After starting off track following a collision with another driver, the German found himself in last place. He took advantage of other early race incidents to make his way back up through the pack.
During the restart following the red flag, he was one of the first to put on intermediate tires. A good choice for him. This allowed him to gain many positions in the rankings.
In the end, the Aston Martin driver finished in sixth place on one of his favorite tracks. Once again, he demonstrated his ease in difficult conditions.
