Max Verstappen wants to assess his performance level on dry conditions

It’s an important weekend for Max Verstappen. The Dutch driver has a great chance of winning his second world championship, on Honda’s home ground. But before thinking about the title, the Red Bull driver is focusing on tuning his car and the practice sessions.

The first day took place on a wet track. There, Max Verstappen finished 6th and then 3rd. This Saturday, the conditions are expected to be completely different as the track is supposed to remain dry, with no rain announced.

“I would have liked it to be a bit more representative, but fortunately, it wasn’t a complete disaster either. At least we could drive and do a few things, but to know where we stand, on the wet, it’s a bit tricky,” said the reigning champion.

« I’m eagerly looking forward to tomorrow [Saturday] to see how we can perform on the dry track. Basically, we will start from scratch tomorrow on the dry track. But once again, it will be the same for everyone, and I don’t think it will make a huge difference on the grid.

This Friday, Charles Leclerc, the man who can delay the Dutchman’s deadline, finished ahead of his rival only in the first free practice session. He achieved the third fastest time.
