Mick Schumacher will have a new floor panel
The German made a mistake this Friday in Japan. His car was badly damaged.
A costly crash. In the midst of negotiations for his future in Formula 1, Mick Schumacher didn’t make a favorable move. At the end of free practice 1, the German went off track, caught by aquaplaning.
The accident largely destroyed his Haas and damaged its undertray. The car, bearing number 47, stayed in the pits during the second session for the mechanics to carry out repairs and ensure that everything else is functioning normally.
“It was quite wet and unfortunately, I had a moment of aquaplaning which caused me to lose control of the rear,” said Mick Schumacher after his accident.
« We have lost some time and we will have to do a lot of work tomorrow, but the track is excellent, the car performed well today, so I hope we are in a good position. Tomorrow should be dry so we will see what we can do from there. »
Before going off track, the son of the seven-time world champion held a respectable seventh place.
