Budget 2021: Fernando Alonso trusts the FIA in case of teams exceeding the limit

From Singapore, two teams are in the spotlight. According to several rumors, Red Bull and Aston Martin would have exceeded the budget cap during the 2021 season. If this were to be true, both teams would receive penalties.

The FIA was supposed to release its report this Wednesday, October 5th, but finally, the documents will be unveiled this Monday, October 10th. When asked about this, Fernando Alonso places full trust in the global governing body, in case they have to make drastic decisions.

« I have a lot of confidence in the FIA, I have already said it several times. I fully trust Mohammed [Ben Sulayem, President of the FIA, editor’s note] and his team. »

There are problems they have faced race after race, and on which they must improve, but they have this thirst for learning and it can be something very positive compared to the past.

« On other matters outside of the competition, I fully trust in what they are doing and in the conclusion that will be published next week regarding the budget cap. I have no doubt about anything, not even about how it will evolve.

» As for other issues outside of the competition, I have full confidence in what they are doing and in the conclusion that will be published next week regarding the budget cap. I have no doubts about anything, not even about how it will evolve.

In case of a serious offense, both targeted teams could receive heavy sanctions. But before looking ahead, we will have to wait until Monday, October 10th.
