The visibility will be improved in Jeddah
The drivers having complained about a lack of visibility on the Jeddah circuit, modifications will be made by the 2023 Grand Prix.
This is not the first time it will be modified. Last year, the first modifications were made to the Jeddah circuit after several complaints from drivers regarding the lack of visibility. The proximity to the trackside barriers in the curves was the downside of the layout.
For the 2023 edition, this point will be further improved as the field of vision has once again been reduced. The circuit, on the other hand, will have no modifications.
« We are working with the FIA and Formula 1 to make certain changes to the circuit. The layout remains the same, but for safety reasons, we will improve visibility. We have learned that the new [generation of single-seaters] is more sensitive to rumble strips, just like in Miami [this year], so we have made changes to the rumble strips compared to the first [edition of the Saudi Arabian GP], confirms the Saudi Minister of Sports, Selon Abdelaziz ben Turki al-Fayçal.
Since the second edition ended, we have been working consistently with the FIA and F1 to ensure that we are well prepared for the next race.
The security around the site will also be reinforced following the terrorist attacks that occurred this year, near Jeddah.
The 2023 Saudi Arabia Grand Prix will take place on March 19th.
