Mercedes is receiving another fine
George Russell drove too fast in the pit lane during his warm-up laps.
Fortunately, Mercedes has a big budget, otherwise it would have hurt. The German team was fined €25,000 this Saturday because Lewis Hamilton did not remove his piercing before getting behind the wheel, and the team did not inform the FIA about it.
This Sunday, it is George Russell who is responsible for a new fine. The British driver was driving too fast in the pit lane during the reconnaissance laps. The one wearing number 63 was driving at 60.6 km/h, exceeding the speed limit by 0.6 km/h.
This offense was sanctioned by the FIA, which imposed a financial penalty of €100. As a reminder, George Russell was supposed to start from the pit lane for having changed multiple engine components on his car.
